“Sotol Chihuahua” sells sotol made from 100% agave sotol plant. It is100% pure with no added chemicals and comes in various proofs. The sotol is made from a high of 96 proof to as low as 25 proof to meet various tastes.
We continue to make it the old fashioned way to retain its smooth flavor and unique aroma.
The old family tradition of producing sotol was to distill it at no less than 96 proof. In the year 2000, 100 years from the date of Don Cuco’s birth, his grandchildren are now introducing “Sotol Generaciones” also at 72 proof. We are also introducing “Sotolito” at 50 proof. These new changes have not affected the smooth taste and unique aroma you find in our product.
“Sotol Generaciones Silver” is 72 proof, lighter than most tequila's. As 100% agave it is smooth to the taste with no aftertaste. It will be marketed as premium spirit. “Sotol Generaciones” is produced in the traditional six-century-old fermentation process.
“Sotol Generaciones Gold” is fermented at 96 and 72 proofs. It ferments for six months with various fruits to develop a wine that is gentle to the taste and a smooth bouquet of wood and fruits. It is marketed as a high premium spirit-wine. “Sotol Generaciones Gold” is bottled in 1000 ml, 750 ml, 500 ml, 250 ml and 50 ml. It is in glass bottles and offered as the premium sotol.
“Sotolito Silver” is of 50 proof. Much lighter in nature, it is promoted principally to bars and restaurants as a mixture for well drinks. It is breaking into the margarita machine market that consumes thousands of liters of tequila per month due to its very competitive pricing. It is mass-produced for high volume sales. Sotolito is bottled in 1000 ml plastic bottles similar to the well drink mixer and bottled in glass for individual sales.
“Sotolito” mixed in well drinks, as is tequila, results in a sweeter and smoother taste than tequila.
Since 2001 various individual flavored sotoles have been in research and development. The following is the list of the various flavors:
